Krillion Hints for the Latest Prompts
Stuck on a prompt and not ready for the whole answer key? This page gives you a way in without spoiling the dive. Every prompt from the latest day (October 19, 2026) sits below with its checked answers folded away. Where editorial clues have been written, you can work through three hints first. Hint 1 points you at a useful corner of the topic, hint 2 narrows it down, and hint 3 is close to naming an answer outright. The answers live in a separate closed disclosure, so you choose when to reveal them.
The hints are editorial clues based on the checked answer lists. They are not part of the game itself, and they aim at the deeper tiers rather than the answers everyone types first, because a hint that leads you to a tier 1 answer saves you nothing. Daily answer pages are published automatically after source checks; new pages may not have editorial hints yet, and that absence is shown explicitly rather than filled with invented clues.

How the three levels work
Each level removes one layer of searching. Here is the idea with an invented example that is not a real Krillion prompt. Say the prompt were "name a bird". Hint 1 might read "think about birds that never leave the ground", which moves you away from pigeons and sparrows without naming anything. Hint 2 might add "look at islands in the southern hemisphere", which shrinks the field to a handful of candidates. Hint 3 might say "the national symbol of New Zealand", and at that point you have the answer. The ladders above follow the same rhythm: category, then region or subtype, then a near giveaway when an editorial ladder has been written for that prompt.
When to open a hint and when to just guess
Krillion rewards rarity, so a quick obvious answer and a slow obvious answer score the same. If your first instinct is the answer the whole world would give, that is usually the moment for hint 1: it points sideways, toward the less crowded part of the topic. If you already have two or three decent ideas, skip the hints and pick the least famous one you are confident is valid. Opening hint 3 is best saved for prompts where you have nothing at all; it trades the fun of finding an answer for the certainty of having one.
One more habit worth building: after the day is over, read all three hints for prompts you got right too. They often show a route into the topic that you did not try, and those routes come back on later prompts.
Hints for earlier days
This page always shows the most recent day. Hints for every earlier day stay on that day's answer page, folded in the same way above each answer table. Use the archive to find a date, or step back one day at a time from the home page.
Building your own hint ladder
The best players do this in their heads. Before typing, they ask three quick questions: which part of this topic do most people know, which part do I know that others might not, and which specific item there am I sure about? That is exactly the structure of our hints, just run in your own head. The scoring guide explains why that second question matters so much, and the geography page shows the method applied to place prompts.
Questions people ask
- Are these hints part of the Krillion game?
- No. These are editorial clues written from the dated, source-checked answer lists, aiming at the deeper tiers rather than the answers everyone types first.
- Will the hints spoil the answers?
- Answers stay inside a closed disclosure. Where editorial hints are available, open the three clues first; otherwise you can go straight to the answer disclosure.
- Where are hints for earlier days?
- Each day page in the archive keeps any editorial hints written for it, folded above its answer tables. Automatically published days may have no hints yet.
- When does this page change?
- It shows the latest day we have published. New prompts appear after their dated answer sources have been checked and published.
